Julia Keen

Artist Spotlight

January 2023

Julia Keen has been dancing for over 12 years in the Palm Bay and Melbourne, Florida areas where she was born and raised and loves to use this art form to worship God, in improvisation, choreography, and performing. For her, dance is a way of showing how she is feeling when talking to God. Just singing is not enough; she feels called to move and dance before the Lord as an expression of the lyrics. This is where much of the inspiration for her choreography comes from, which is often unusual and awkward. She does this intentionally to communicate the natural roughness of life and to show the audience that our worship does not have to look refined and put together before we present it to God. If our worship is authentic then it is enough for God; He will accept it. She is currently living in Madrid, Spain doing a missions internship for 8 months. There, she will be using dance to give a free class for the children in the community. After the internship, she plans on majoring in dance at Palm Beach Atlantic University.
